JD.com removes 87 Playstation titles from Chinese store

Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com released a statement today announcing 87 Playstation games were taken down in accordance with Chinese law.

Notable banned games include the Call of Duty series, the Yakuza series, The Last of Us Part II, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon series, Battlefield 2, 3, and 4 (though not Battlefield 5, oddly enough), all GTA games, and Resident Evil.

The relevant laws prohibit games that have not been government-approved from being sold, as well as games that “harm national unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity,” “promote cults and superstition,” “reveal state secrets, harm national interests, or harm national honor and interests,” or “violate social ethics,” among a list of ten offenses.
